To prospective students
Many students wishing to study in our group have asked a letter of acceptance or recommendation for the MEXT Scholarship. However, We do not issue such letters.
To secure a MEXT scholarship, one must obtain a recommendation from the Japanese embassy in their home country. Prospective host researchers are not involved in the embassy recommendation process.
Another way is a recommendation from a university (in our case, Nagoya University). However, to apply for the university-recommended MEXT Scholarship, one must already be affiliated with the graduate school. In addition, this is super-competitive, with only one person selected from the entire graduate school every two to three years. It means this is no chance to get this. Anyway, one must first pass the graduate school entrance examination. While I welcome inquiries regarding the graduate school entrance exam, we cannot guarantee admission, and we certainly will not issue letters of acceptance or recommendation.
We have no project budget for supporting students. So whether pursuing a master course or PhD, and regardless of whether or not you receive a scholarship, you must cover all living expenses and tuition fees yourself.
For a secure research life, we strongly recommend that candidates get a scholarship before contacting us.
